Paul J. Hirsch, 72, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Deborah A. (Lewis) Hirsch for 48 years.
A visitation with the family followed by a funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., West York. Visitation with the family will take place from 11am – 12pm with a funeral service starting at 12pm. A celebration of life will be held at the Hirsch residence following the service.
Mr. Hirsch was born on October 8, 1951 in Los Angeles, CA, a son of the late Albert and Irene A. (Diamond) Hirsch. He was a graduate of the University of West Florida and primarily worked in government relations throughout his life. After serving in the United States Air Force, he transitioned to the public and private sector. His public sector expertise was in the areas of congressional relations, federal installation management, and real estate. His private sector experience includes work with Congress, the Executive Branch, and state and local governments. He was a member of the Association of Defense Communities (ADC), National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the Air Force Association (AFA), and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).
Paul met his wife in 1974 on the tennis court as they shared a passion for the sport. They wed the following year in Warner Robins, GA. Paul had a passion for baseball, specifically the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the University of Southern California. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed spending time with family, specifically swimming in the pool with his grandsons.
Paul is survived by his wife, son Andrew H. Hirsch and his wife, Ashton E. (Bankos) Hirsch; grandsons Carson E. Hirsch and Brooks M. Hirsch; sisters Billie Garrison and Susan Weitzman and her husband, Stephen as well as many nieces, nephews, and loving extended family.
