Paul Frederick Hunter, 53, of Hinsdale, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, with his dear family at his side. Paul was born July 31, 1971, to his loving parents, the late Fred and the late Carole Hunter, nee Harper. He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Wendy Hunter, nee Littler, and loving children, Lauren and Chase. Paul was brother to James Christopher (Courtney) Hunter, nephew of Donna (Bob) Case, son-in-law of Bruce and the late Carol Littler, brother-in-law of Tim and Pattie Littler, and uncle of Kevin, Ryan, and Payton Littler.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Paul spent his early youth in Ohio before moving to Westport, Connecticut where he cultivated some of his most cherished friendships. He graduated from the University of Richmond and later obtained his MBA at Emory University's Goizueta Business school. Paul and Wendy settled in Hinsdale, Illinois in 2006 and raised the family there. Paul was such a connector and loved nothing more than catching up with his treasured friends. One of Paul's greatest career blessings was joining the WCM family. They loved and encouraged him and the family during the most difficult walk of life imaginable.
On the day Paul was born, his father won his club golf championship. Golf has always been in his blood, and he carried on his father's passion and lovingly passed it down to Chase. Paul was an outstanding golfer who brought people together through his love of the sport and had many incredible victories through his life. Paul was the prime example of dreaming big. In his twenties, he moved out of New York City and quit the Wall Street life to pursue professional golf in Florida before returning to the world of finance. It is in Florida where he met his wife Wendy. He was the biggest fan of Lauren and Chase and their pursuit of music from a young age and has unconditionally supported them following their dreams and living out their passion and talents as he once did.
Paul valued family above all else and was blessed with many special trips and memories that will be remembered forever. Places like Laguna Beach, Colorado, Florida, Nashville, and Montana are among the Hunter family's favorite spots. Traveling to see live concerts was a special highlight for the family. He was Lauren's number one cheerleader for years of volleyball, a passionate baseball coach for Chase, and his ultimate golf buddy and inspiration.
Our courageous Paul fought a fierce, hard battle with Cholangiocarcinoma with Wendy, Lauren, and Chase by his side for 22 months. He inspired anyone who knew him with his bravery and hope amidst an incredible fight through very dark times. His faith was tangible. He was a light to so many people and is now with the light of the world, Jesus Christ, in Heaven.
There will be a Visitation on Thursday, May 29th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 South Grant Street, Hinsdale, Illinois 60521.
