Paul Theodore Jaffin, 73, of Berwick, passed away peacefully at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Thursday, August 1, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born February 1, 1951 in Berwick, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Wert) Jaffin. He resided in Berwick his whole life.
A graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1969, Mr. Jaffin was employed as a diesel mechanic at Penske Truck Leasing, Hazleton, retiring in 2011.
In 1969, Paul had the great fortune of having a car accident that landed him in the emergency room of the Berwick Hospital, where he met his future wife, Barbara Demshock, a candy striper. Married on May 15, 1970, they were together for 43 years until her death on July 15, 2013.
Paul was a member of the Russian Club in Berwick. He enjoyed listening to music, playing golf and pool, fishing, and solving extremely challenging crossword puzzles. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan.
Paul was a kind and generous person. Well-informed about many subjects, he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with people. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Jaffin.
Surviving are two sons: John Jaffin and his wife, Jill, and Paul Jaffin and his wife, Hope, all of Berwick; three grandsons: Dustin Jaffin, Shawn Andrezze, and Eric Jaffin; his brother, Mark Jaffin of Bloomsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
