Paul Kramer passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2nd after a short illness. Paul, the youngest of seven children, was born and grew up in College Point, Queens. He got to travel extensively while in the US Air Force but spent his life in New York.
Paul was a Medical Technician at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, and then at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. He worked to get results to aid physicians and nurses in diagnosing and or monitoring patients. His work in the lab made a difference to thousands of patients over his almost thirty years in the field. Most of all, Paul loved his time off! He loved to be outdoors. He loved to garden, surrounding himself with colorful flowers and plants. His creativity was best expressed in the earth. Some of his favorite memories included hiking the Adirondak High Peaks with his brother, Peter, and his sister Lori, and hiking in the woods. He also loved to play with his trains, creating landscapes and towns for the trains to run through.
His favorite, though, were the adventures with his wife, Heather. Paul was quick to explore new places as well as visit old favorites. Some highlights include Cape Cod, the Finger Lakes, and Lake Placid. Together they explored waterfalls, paddled their kayaks, and swam in whatever lakes they could find. They made the most of the time they spent together.
Paul is survived by his wife and best friend, Heather, his brothers, Joe, Victor, and Peter (Brenda), and his sisters Barbara, Christina, and Lori, as well as his nieces and nephews. In his death, Paul joins his parents, his beloved niece, Rachel, and his grandparents.
A Celebration of life will be held at Bellevue Reformed Church, at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Fowler, 1790 Grand Blvd. Schenectady, NY 12309, or to Bellevue Reformed Church, 2000 Broadway, Schenectady, NY 12306

I worked with Paul at St. Peter´s Hospital Lab, along with his wife Heather, and always found Paul to be friendly, polite, and willing to help despite sometimes busy, hectic times in the lab. He was hard working and a good lab role model!
