PLATTSBURGH - Funeral services with military honors for Paul F. Paro Jr., 82, a resident of the Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Plattsburgh and formerly of Norwood, will be held on Monday, November 17, 2024 at 12 noon at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be in the Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Paul passed away on Veterans Day, Tuesday evening, November 11, 2025. Paul is survived by a close friend, Christina Evan, Plattsburgh; two step-children, Carroll St. Louis and Velvet St. Louis as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members. Paul was pre-deceased by his parents, his wife Elizabeth and two siblings, Philip Paro and Phyllis LaBrake.
Born in Potsdam, NY on October 29, 1943 to the late Paul F. and Delia Deon Paro Sr., Paul attended Canton Central School and married Elizabeth (Thompson) St. Louis on October 29, 1978. Elizabeth later passed away on February 21, 2020. Paul was retired military, serving in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. In his spare time, Paul was very active serving with the DAV, driving veterans to and from Syracuse and around the North Country for appointments and Paul was a talented artist, drawing drafts of buildings and even making wooden models of them. Memorial donations in Paul's memory can be made to the North Country Honor Flight, PO Box 2644, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 where he was a proud recipient of that honor and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com.
