Obituary For Paul Reynolds Sr.

Paul Reynolds Sr, 83 of Staten Island, New York passed away Thursday, November 20th surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 2,1942 to parents Gloria Rabin (Solari) and Arthur Reynolds in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. In 1949 he immigrated to the US with his mother, grandparents and uncle, settling in Greenwich Village, NY. When he was a young child, the family moved to Staten Island where he met his wife Patricia, the love of his life. The two started dating in their sophomore year at New Dorp High School and have been married for 62 years.

Paul loved travelling the world with family and for work. He enjoyed cycling having

set his personal record on his last daily ride this summer. Paul was heavily

involved in scouting starting as a boy; he returned to England as a teenage scout to attend the World Boy scout Jamboree where he met the Queen. As an adult,

Paul spent much of his personal time volunteering to be a scout leader for his sons' Boy Scout Troup 60. He became the Scoutmaster, serving in that role for

many years. The boys in Troup 60, now middle-aged men affectionately call him Mr. Reynolds, even when he insisted on them calling him Paul. He enjoyed hunting upstate New York with his brother-in-law Albert, family and friends. He fed his

backyard squirrel "Nutsy" peanuts every day and shared that with his grandchildren….Nutsy has apparently been alive for over 50 years! He loved dogs, especially his long departed best buddy Bob the basset hound.

He was very proud to have become an American Citizen, having said many times

"you don't become an American until you leave this country to truly appreciate how

great we are in the United States by seeing how others live". He loved the freedom

we receive as Americans.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, his sons Paul and Brien; daughters-in- law Susana and Kandys; Grandchildren Andrea, Amanda, Sarabella, and Brien Jr; great-granddaughter Imogen; Sisters Sally and Josey; Brothers David and Gary, brothers-in-law Albert, Billy, and Eric; sisters-in-law Phillys, Jeanette, Debbie, and Ellen; and many nieces and nephews. He thought of Frank Suarez as a son. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Gloria Rabin, Arthur Reynolds, stepfather Larry Rabin, Sister Gail and brother Nick.
