Obituary
Guest Book
Whether you knew him as Paul, Paulie, Porka, Rooster, Root, Chewy, Uncle Paul, or just “Uncle,” he was Paul John Spillett and he left us too soon at the young age of 58.
Paul was a genuinely good man who took great pride in his work and loved the simple things in life … family, hunting, fishing, his animals, being a volunteer fireman, woodworking (perfectionist!) and – most of all - the love of his life, Jilly. He will be greeted in Heaven with open arms by his parents, grandparents, sister, sister in-law, aunts, uncles, niece, and cousins (too many!) who have arrived there before him. But he leaves behind so many who will mourn him … his wife Jill (and his dog Schotzy), his sisters and brother (Sandi & Tom, Barbara & Mike, Michael & Terry, Linda & John, and Teresa & Tommy), many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many, many friends.
When I hear the words “Bacon,” “Ricochet,” “My Seesta,” “Keys wrapped in foil,” and “My Ding A Ling,” I will always think of Paul. I’m sure we all have “Paul” stories … share them and keep his memory alive.
No matter what Paul was to you … husband, fur-daddy, brother, uncle, great uncle, nephew, great-nephew, co-worker, or friend … he was loved and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, Paul requested that donations be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital: Checks Payable To “Shriner’s Children’s Hospital” and Mailed To: Shriner’s Children’s Processing Center, PO Box 947765, Atlanta GA 30394 (Note in Check Memo: “In Memory of Paul Spillett”) ~ OR~ Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter: Checks Payable To “Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter” and Mailed To Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter, 300 Horseblock Road, Brookhaven NY 11719 (Note in Check Memo: “In Memory of Paul Spillett”)
