It is with a twinkle in our eyes and a chuckle in our hearts that we announce the departure of the adventurous, loving, supportive, and down right funny Paul Thornton from this wild ride we call life. Born on May 22, 1964, Paul managed to cram an impressive amount of living into his 61 years, finally leaving our lives on March 27, 2026. With a twinkle in his eye and a joke on his lips, Paul made Kaysville, Utah his home, but those who knew him best will tell you his heart was always with the waves in Mission Viejo, California.
A dedicated Sales Floor Associate in the retail business, Paul was as hardworking as they come, yet always managed to keep things light. He was the kind of guy who could turn a dull meeting into a comedy show, and lets be honest, his C A L Ranch Safety Award was as much for his ability to prevent work place boredom as for his commitment to safety. But work was a necessary evil for Paul. His true passions were fishing, golfing and surfing, and he lived life with all the enthusiasm as a man who has just spotted the perfect wave.
Paul had an uncanny knack for making sure everyone was cared for, a quality that endeared him to everyone he met.
Paul is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth and Steve Friedrich, his brother Robert Jr and wife Kim, his brother Stephen and wife Lauren. He was the fun uncle to Jakob and Niece-In-Law Joanna, The fun uncle to Mallory Friedrich and her better half Kenny Harrop and the fun Uncle to Garrett Friedrich. Paul was welcomed on the other side by his parents, Robert and Rae Thornton, who surely have already heard about his latest escapades.
Paul was a hard-working, adventurous soul who made life a joyous journey for everyone around him. In his honor, let's all live a little more like Paul, with a fishing rod in one hand, a golf club in the other, a surfboard under one arm and a sale tag in the other.
So here's to Paul- the man who made us laugh, taught us love and showed us how to
live life to the fullest.
We invite you to visit the memorial page to leave your memories of Paul and upload any photos you have of his adventurous life at www.myers-mortuary.com. We'd love to keep his spirit alive with your shared moments and laughter.
