Paul James "Jamie" Watson, 57, passed away on March 1, 2025. Born on July 30, 1967, in Fresno, California, Jamie lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and an unwavering love for his family.
A graduate of Clovis High School in 1985, Jamie built a successful career with AT&T, dedicating nearly three decades to the company from 1996 until his passing. His work was important to him, but it never defined him-his true joy came from the people he loved and the experiences he embraced.
Jamie's life was an adventure shared with his beloved wife, Desiree. Together, they traveled the world, exploring Italy, France, Switzerland, England, and Spain-each journey adding another chapter to their incredible story. His love for his family was unmatched, and every moment was an adventure. His final week was a whirlwind of joy, packed with everything he cherished. He and Desiree flew off to Phoenix for an unforgettable trip to watch the Dodgers at Spring Training. They celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on February 27th with love and laughter, then headed straight to Las Vegas to see Garth Brooks in concert. It was a week filled with travel, Dodgers excitement, live music, food, celebrations, and a little gambling.
Above all else, Jamie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He took immense pride in his daughters, Rhiana Palomino and Gabriela Watson. The day Rhiana married Nick was one of the happiest of his life-he knew she had found someone who cherished her as much as he did. And with Gabriela's wedding to Christian on the horizon, Jamie could hardly wait to celebrate another milestone with his family. His granddaughters, Parker and Presley Palomino, were the light of his life. Their excitement upon seeing him-arms raised high for him to scoop them up-brought him boundless joy every single time
A true musician at heart, he drummed his way through life in countless local bands over the years. From his roots in country music to mastering every genre, he could do it all. His soul, though, belonged to RUSH. He would practice for hours, striving to perfect every beat. As he got older, he picked up the piano, playing nearly every night in his music room, filling the air with melodies. For the past 13 years, he rocked the 90s hits with the Rocky Rock Band, sharing his love of music with anyone lucky enough to hear him play
Jamie's warmth and humor were unmatched-he had an uncanny ability to make people laugh no matter what mood they were in. His presence filled every room with energy and joy. Whether spending time with family and friends or embarking on another adventure, he lived every moment to its fullest
Jamie is survived by his loving wife Desiree; daughters Rhiana Palomino (Nick) and Gabriela Watson (Christian); granddaughters Parker and Presley Palomino; stepmother Gayle Watson; sisters Debbie Osbourn (Preston), and Sandy Graham; brother Stacy Watson (Shannon); sisters Stacy Rosales (Charles), and Kelli Campbell; brother Fred Campbell; father-in-law Robert Rivas Sr.; mother-in-law Josie Rivas; brothers-in-law Robert Rivas Jr. and Jacob Rivas; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Shirley and Bob Watson; brothers Robin Yager and Tracy Watson.
Jamie didn't just live-he embraced it with everything he had. His spirit will continue to resonate through the laughter of those who knew him and the music he so passionately played. His memory will be cherished forever.
