Paula Asaro

Paula Georgette Asaro (nee Fischer), 83, passed away on January 5, 2025 with both her daughters at her side. Paula was born in Paterson, New Jersey before becoming a long-time resident of Wayne, New Jersey. Paula was born on November 18, 1941, to the parents of Avery and Georgette Fischer (nee Colis). Prior to her retirement she worked in the insurance industry as an Independent Insurance Agent - Lewin Insurance Inc. She enjoyed her travels to Florida, knitting and especially her little chihuahua, Lilly.
Paula was the beloved mother to Debbie Justin of West Milford, NJ, Eddie Justin son-in-law of Newfoundland NJ, Deana Cohen and Jon Knick of Wayne, NJ and Paul & Kasia Asaro of Bloomingdale, NJ. She was a loving nana to Tyler, Taylor, Bailey & Madison Justin, Garrett Cohen, Christoper & Julia Asaro. She is also survived by her brother, Avery Fischer Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. She was predeceased by her loving husband David Lewin; her brother William Fischer; sister Catherine Harritos; and her son-in-law Brian Cohen.
Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 1 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Scanlan's, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 1 pm. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula's memory can be made to American Diabetes Association.
