Paula Colina Semprun
August 14, 1962 – July 1, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Paula Colina Semprun, who departed this life on July 1, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 62. She was born on August 14, 1962, in Maracaibo, Venezuela, to Antonio José Colina and Nery Margarita Semprun.
Paula was a devoted wife to Guillermo Noriega Gutiérrez, with whom she shared a deep and beautiful love. Their bond was one of laughter, strength, and quiet understanding. They were truly inseparable—partners in every part of life—and remained by each other’s side through every joy and every trial, all the way to the end.
She was a loving and proud mother to her four children: Paola Milagros Noriega Colina, Vanessa Milagros Strong, Rebeca Milagros Noriega Colina, and Guillermo Jesús Noriega Colina. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Nery, and leaves behind a family who will forever hold her spirit close to their hearts.
A talented hairdresser by trade, Paula’s greatest passion was her family. She especially adored her grandchildren, always lighting up in their company and treasuring every moment spent watching, playing, and laughing with them.
She also shared a special bond with her loyal dog, Bella, who was a constant companion and source of comfort and joy.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Paula lived a life of service, kindness, and joy. Even as her body struggled, her spirit never wavered. She remained full of life and spontaneity, always ready for a last-minute beach trip—even when walking made it difficult. Her outlook on life was infectiously positive; she had a way of turning every challenge into a blessing, and every setback into a reason to smile.
Paula taught her children not only how to cook and care for others, but how to laugh at themselves, embrace joy, and find beauty in small things—like helping injured birds or dancing in the kitchen. Her cooking, especially her ever-changing versions of “rice and chicken,” will be remembered with love and nostalgia.
A viewing and memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7645 S. 3200 W., West Jordan, Utah. All who knew and loved Paula are welcome to attend and celebrate her beautiful life.
Though it’s hard to believe she’s no longer with us, her light will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.
