A Memorial Service will take place at the Jenks Methodist Church, located at 415 E. Main Street, Jenks, OK, on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
Paula Gene Foster, 91, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on April 18, 2024, in Tulsa. She was born on November 3,1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Raymond J. Whitmeyer and Isadora Barr Whitmeyer.
Paula graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1951. After completing business school, she worked as an bookkeeper at ONG and later worked in the accounting department at Williams Companies. Paula was best known for her expertise in creating beautifully crafted custom draperies, sheers, cornice boards, roman shades, and valances. Her passion for decorating, especially during the holidays, led her to open Paula's Gifts & Antiques on Main Street in Jenks America in 1969, the first of its kind in town.
A devoted member of West Tulsa United Methodist Church and Jenks United Methodist Church, Paula found solace and community in her faith.
Paula was a dedicated fan of the Jenks Trojans and took pride in her exquisite penmanship. She enjoyed creating clever and encouraging signs for the football teams, often impressing sports writers with her witty lines. Paula also had a talent for writing special notes, poems, and rhymes for friends and loved ones.
Paula Gene Foster is survived by her daughter Lydia Foster (Charlie), son Brian Ray Foster (JoLynn), grandsons James Ray Foster (Courtney) and Ryan Michael Foster (Abby), beloved niece Julianne Warren, great-grandchildren Clara Love Foster, Micah Joel Foster, Renee Hope Foster, Eleanor Lynn Foster, and Boaz Robert Foster. She is also survived by many longtime family friends and will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold G. Foster, sister Eloise Whitmeyer Warren, brother in law Andy J. Warren, parents Raymond and Isadora Whitmeyer and niece Andrea Warren.
