Paula Mueller

Paula Mueller, age 59, of Woodridge, IL, passed away on Monday October 2nd surrounded by her family and friends after a six-month battle with cancer. Jimmy Buffet was playing in the background, just as she would have wanted.
While there will never be the right words to describe how incredible Paula was, her kind heart, laughter, and radiance were felt by all who knew her. Paula's faith in Jesus kept her strong and determined to face any challenge with positivity and hope. Her love for the Cubs, the beach/Outer Banks, and Jimmy Buffett music can make everyone smile, especially for those who have ever had the joy of experiencing these favorites with her. Paula's dedication to teaching and Science Olympiad at Neuqua Valley High School, as well as her years coaching, were something she was always proud of. She loved working at NVHS and considered all of her colleagues her family. Her students always held a special place in her heart. Her many years working for the Alliance for the Children speak to her caring, giving nature and gave her comfort knowing that many children were going to have at least a piece of happiness. Above all else, Paula's family meant the world to her, especially her two children, Lynn and Bobby. She was the best mom, always giving her all to ensure that they were taken care of and supported, and was so proud of them and all they have accomplished. Paula deeply loved her husband, her kids and their spouses, and her grandchild, Jordan, as well as her parents, sisters, nieces/nephews, many cousins and all of her close friends and family members who have always stuck by her side. Paula's courage, bravery, class, passion, hostess abilities, organizational skills, attitude, and energy will never be forgotten. She is loved by many and her impact will be felt for eternity.
Paula is the beloved wife of Bob; loving mother of Lynn (Peter) Marquardt and Bobby (fiance Cailin Haas); dear Nona of Jordan Marquardt; devoted daughter of Miran and Carol Albrecht, cherished sister of Michelle (Dan) Holda and Christine (Mark) Cagwin; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Modell Funeral Home on Thursday October 5th from 4-9pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 6th at 10:00 am. A procession to Bronswood Cemetery will immediately follow.
The family invites and encourages those who attend to wear something that reminds you of Paula- a Hawaiian shirt, Cubs gear, a science t-shirt, etc. We want this to be a time to celebrate her!
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Alliance for the Children, NVHS Science Olympiad, or the Corolla Wild Horse Fund in honor of Paula.
