Paula Diane Murphy, age 83, passed away on January 7, 2024. Diane, as she was known to family and friends, was born December 15, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas. She moved to Santa Maria, California with her family in 1960. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence (Larry) Murphy (World War II Vet); parents Clyde (World War II Vet) and Pauline (Genemaras) Roberts; brother Dwayne Roberts and sister Ronna Gail Roberts. Diane leaves behind two brothers, Dwight Roberts (Shirley) and Barry Roberts and sister Cheryl (Joe) Regalleto; a niece, Jeanette Regalleto and three nephews, Jeff (Darcy) Roberts, Eric Roberts and Nick (Vanessa) Roberts, and great nephew Chase Roberts. Through marriage, Diane had an additional niece. Jennifer (Mark) Lopez, a great niece and great nephew and four great, great nieces.
Diane worked in real estate for many years in Southern California though her real passions were live theater, music and art. She and Larry often performed together in community theater programs. Diane and Larry moved to Eagle River in 2003. Diane was known around Eagle River for her love of music and art. She was an accomplished musician, singer/song writer and artist. She performed at local venues sharing her original songs. She loved the jamming sessions with her close friends who visited her in her final days reminiscing, strumming their guitars and singing so Diane heard their voices one last time. Thank you, Jim, Jeff, Kathy and Debbie for your loving friendship and beautiful tribute to Diane. She heard you.
Per Diane's wishes there will be no funeral service. However, if any of her friends want to gather with their guitars and raise their voices once again for Diane, that is a send-off she would show up for.
