Paula Fern Rose, 85, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away on October 2, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on June 13, 1940, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Paul and Nora (Kennard) Lennier.

Paula earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in library science from East Texas State University in Commerce. Her career began as a civilian librarian at Beale Air Force Base in California, where she met her husband, Bill.

A dedicated advocate for libraries and literacy, Paula was one of the founding members of the Camp County Library in Pittsburg, where she served as librarian for many years. Her passion for ensuring access to public libraries shaped her community and inspired those around her. She also devoted countless hours to the library at Trinity Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant and was a member of the Friends of the Mount Pleasant Library. In addition, Paula was a proud member of the Eastern Star. She cherished the arts and especially enjoyed attending events at the Whatley Center on the Northeast Texas Community College campus.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Rose of Mount Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tracie Rose of Mount Pleasant; and granddaughter, Caroline Rose of Waco, Texas

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Nevills Chapel Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College through the NTCC Foundation at PO Box 1307, Mount Pleasant, TX 75456 or online at NTCC.edu/givenow.
