Pauline G. Caldwell, born on November 21, 1927, in Franklin Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at The Delaney of Bridgewater. She was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Farr) Tinnes.
A lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, NJ, Pauline was a member of the Cherryville Baptist Church. Pauline had a distinguished career as a Claims Supervisor for the New Jersey Department of Labor & Industry, a position from which she retired after many years of dedicated service. Her professional integrity and diligence in her work were widely recognized.
An avid golfer, Pauline was deeply involved in the Copper Hill Country Club, where she was not only a member but an active participant in women’s golf events. Her passion for the sport extended to her membership in the Women's Trenton District Golf Association and her role as past-treasurer of the New Jersey State Women's Golf Committee. In addition to golf, Pauline was also an enthusiastic duplicate bridge player and was affiliated with the American Contract Bridge League, showcasing her competitive spirit and love for both games throughout her life.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Paula C. Gyuro, of Cincinnati, OH, and son-in-law, Jeff Pormann of Auburn, PA. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Allyson F. Pormann of Minersville, PA and Emily R. Pormann of Minneapolis, MN, and great-granddaughter, Gypsy Lynn O'Fallin, of Auburn, PA.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Alfred E. Gyuro; second husband, Carlyle Caldwell; daughter, Marcy Lynn Pormann; her grandson, Matthew L. Pormann; and her siblings, John P. Tinnes and Cathryn T. Brunt. Her legacy will endure through the love she shared with her family and friends. Her memory will be fondly cherished by all who knew her.
Burial will be held privately under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Copper Hill Country Club, Flemington, NJ, at a later date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cherryville Baptist Church, Cherryville, NJ.
