Pauline Ebbie Halupnick, aged 84, of Boone, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, leaving a legacy of love and joy that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Born on June 25, 1940, in Union County, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Ebbie (Johnson) Bergloff, Pauline was a beacon of light in her community, known for her loving nature, friendly demeanor, and passionate zest for life.
A proud graduate of Boone High School in 1958. Pauline married Larry Halupnick in Galena, IL in 1968. Pauline's spirit of adventure and her natural grace led her to a diverse career. She shone brightly as a TV model in her early years, enchanting viewers with her poise and charm. Her dedication to the arts was evident as she taught dancing lessons, sharing her passion for movement and expression with many students. Pauline's compassionate heart found its true calling as she worked with the handicapped. She poured her energy into creating joyous experiences for them, from skating and dancing to pizza parties and horseback riding. Her involvement with the Special Olympics in St. Paul was a testament to her commitment to enriching the lives of others.
Pauline also excelled in various professional roles. As a secretary, she was the organized and efficient backbone of the office. Her interpersonal skills shone as a sales associate, where she built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike. In collections, she approached every challenge with fairness and empathy, earning respect from all those she worked with.
Above all, Pauline cherished the time spent with her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her world, and she nurtured each relationship with the same tenderness and care she gave to her community work. Pauline's faith and her connections at First Presbyterian Church were very important to her, especially Pastor John Pea and his wife Kim.
Pauline's memory will be held dear by her loving daughter, Teresa (Bob) Boyer of Boone, IA; her grandchildren: Ben Ostlund, Kari Boyer, Tiffany (Kurt) Thuney, and Megan (Jake) Bass, all of Boone, IA; and her twelve great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her brother, Ted (Shirley) Bergloff of Boone, IA; sister-in-law, Shirley Austin of Traer, IA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and warmth.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry in 2022, and her grandson John Boyer.
Pauline's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, friendship, and a passionate dedication to making the world a better place. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will always remember her infectious smile, her gentle guidance, and the unwavering support she provided to everyone around her. Her legacy is not only in the lives she touched but also in the way she lived-fully, joyfully, and with boundless love.
A graveside service for Pauline Halupnick, 84, of Boone, Iowa will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa with Pastor John Pea officiating.
