Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thurman Funeral Home - Richmond on Dec. 21, 2021.
Anna "Pauline" Masters passed peacefully from this life December 5, 2021, in the company of her daughters, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.
Pauline was born in Orrick, MO on November 9, 1923 to Daniel H. Tucker, III and Edith Buist Tucker, growing up with two brothers, Charles Vernon and Daniel David.
Pauline lived in Orrick until graduating from High School and left to attend business school in Kansas City where she became proficient on the Comptometer, a skill much needed during the shortage of workers in WWII. Pauline's expertise and eagerness for new experiences led her to California where she excelled at her job and expanded her knowledge in the principles of accounting. Pauline would leave California to marry her high school sweetheart, Jack Wesley Masters of Richmond, MO. They were married on the Naval base in Pennsylvania where Jack was stationed after serving on the USS Phoenix in Pearl Harbor and the south pacific. They returned to Orrick then to Richmond to start their family and begin their lives post WWII. Jack and Pauline had four children, JoAnn, Marilyn, Jimmy Dale and Ronald. They suffered a great loss at the death of their son Jimmy Dale at the age of 4 but being members of "the greatest generation", their hardships only made them stronger.
In Richmond, Jack owned and operated the DX service station and Pauline competently handled the bookkeeping, until they sold the station in 1973. Pauline also worked for Conoco and Swafford's, while finding time to volunteer assisting seniors and veterans with their taxes, giving of her time to the Chamber of Commerce and the Salvation Army.
Her love of God and her commitment to her Christian faith, inspired her involvement in her church, First Baptist of Richmond, for over 50 years. It was here that she devoutly attended services, accounted for and deposited church contributions, recorded attendance records for Sunday School classes, and much more. Pauline was happiest surrounded by family and friends. She loved visiting the Senior Center, sharing a conversation over lunch, or being a part of their many activities, she especially enjoyed the Line Dancing sessions.
After selling her home in Richmond, she moved to Oak Point assisted living center where her boundless energy and enthusiasm carried over to residents and staff. She enjoyed her years there and was so appreciative of the care and support she received while in residence there. Her children and grandchildren, although not close by, were constants in her thoughts and prayers. Unconditional love, endless energy, a never-ending smile, spontaneous laughter, snickerdoodles and coconut crème pie, are memories of this beloved mom and grandma that they will cherish forever.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jimmy Dale, grandsons Jared Hamann and Todd Hamann.
Left to treasure the life of Pauline Masters are daughters Joann (Larry Whatley), Marilyn (Hank Hamman), son Ron (Julie), grandchildren Sean Hamann, Amy Whatley Roberts, Matt Whatley, Jill Masters, Laura Masters Doherty, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
