After a long and courageous battle with endometrial cancer, Pauline Kay (Capson) Wilkins passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Murray, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.
Pauline was born on October 10, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Frank and Mary Capson. She grew up in a warm loving home alongside her sister and three brothers.
Pauline married Frederick James Mann (deceased), and together they were blessed with four beautiful daughters who were the light of her life. Later, Pauline met and married Reed Lloyd (aka "Norv"), sharing 12 wonderful years before his passing. They loved spending time outdoors, working in their yard, camping, traveling, and exploring new places. Pauline later married Tim Wilkins, gaining four wonderful stepsons through that union; Brett, Danny, Corey and Mike. She and Tim shared a love for country music, and she especially enjoyed listening to him sing and play the guitar. Tim also preceded her in death. Pauline then found companionship and comfort with the new love of life, Oscar, her cherished cat.
She worked for Smith's Corporate Offices (EDS), and later for FedEx Freight until her retirement.
When diagnosed with cancer in 2022, Pauline met the challenge with grace, courage, and an unshakable spirit. She often reminded her loved ones that "You need to be grateful for each and every day because tomorrow is never promised." She lived by those words and inspired everyone around her to do the same.
The loss of our mother leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts. If you had the blessing of knowing Pauline, you know she was one of the strongest, most positive, kindest people you could ever have met. She was truly an angel in the shape of our mom.
Pauline loved the outdoors. Some of her favorite moments were spent driving through American Fork Canyon, admiring the changing leaves, and listening to the peaceful sound of water while reminiscing about how much she loved all the family camping trips. She treasured time with her daughters, whether it was out shopping, taking scenic drives, laughing over dinner, or having sleepovers watching a favorite Hallmark movie.
She embraced her role as a grandmother with boundless love and devotion. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her such joy. She enjoyed spending time together and cherished every single moment.
Pauline loved to travel, to discover new places and to share stories from all her adventures with her friends and family.
She was a devoted Utah Jazz fan, her passion for the team was legendary. Game days were sacred, and she watched with devotion and excitement. She never missed watching a single game, if she couldn't watch, you better believe that she had it recorded and looked forward to watching it later (even if she already knew the outcome). She often kept handwritten notes on each player and their stats. Her enthusiastic cheers and post-game recaps will be deeply missed.
Adventurous at heart, Pauline went skydiving at age 75 and took a hot air balloon ride at age 78, proudly crossing both off her bucket list. She lived boldly and without regret.
Lovingly nicknamed "Grandma Froggy," Pauline had an extensive collection of frog figurines that decorated her yard and became a special tradition with her grandchildren. Her yard was her sanctuary, filled with vibrant trinkets, her custom hand-painted rock garden, and her favorite flower, the sunflower.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husbands, Frederick James Mann, Reed N. Lloyd, and Tim Wilkins; her grandson, Tyler Padilla; her brother-in-law, Nic Lucero, her sister-in-law, Ramona Wilkinson, and her parents, Frank and Mary Capson.
She is survived by her daughters: Stephanie (Chad) Badham, Rashelle (Travis) Wilson, Shauna (Gerald) Bean, and Holly (Shaun) Cahoon; her sister and best friend, Pamela Lucero; her brothers, Richard Wilkinson, David (Rosalie) Capson, and Carl (Alice) Capson; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews and friends who brought her immense joy.
Per her wishes, Pauline will be cremated and her ashes laid to rest at the family plot in Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10, 2025, which would have been her 80th birthday. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible team at Symbii Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and care, and for even arranging VIP tickets for Pauline to see one of her favorite country artists, Alan Jackson, an unforgettable gift she treasured. Special thanks to Lori Mills and Laura Johansen for their dedication and support during Pauline's final days, and to close family friend and "godsent angel," Traci Crabtree.
In her own words: "Love you always, forever and ever."
