Pauline D. "Shava" Wolfenden, age 85, formerly of Hampstead, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, at High Point House Hospice in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis C. "Frank" "Sonny" Wolfenden.
Born in Lowell on May 9, 1940, Pauline was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Elephteria (Balamotis) Apostolakes. She was raised and educated in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1958. She went on to marry the love of her life, Francis "Frank" Wolfenden, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and family.
Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising their daughters in Hudson, NH, where their home became the heart of countless gatherings, celebrations, and traditions. After many happy years there, Pauline and Frank retired to their dream condo on the lake in Hampstead, NH - a peaceful place that reflected the love and life they had created together.
Pauline was the heart and matriarch of her family. She lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and the smell of something always cooking. Every holiday was special under her touch, every birthday celebrated in style, and every family trip up to New Hampshire created countless memories - from days spent at Clark's Trading Post to adventures at Whale's Tale - moments that became core memories for her grandchildren and stories they'll carry forever.
Known for her warmth and sparkle, Pauline had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Whether hosting family gatherings, catching up over coffee, or enjoying her "5 o'clock," she embodied joy and connection. After moving to Brightview North Andover earlier this year, she found comfort in new friendships and daily routines she enjoyed - especially social hour and bingo, which quickly became her favorites.
Pauline is survived by her daughters, Lisa Beaton and her husband Brian Beaton, and Kristine Wolfenden Puzzo and her husband Tony Puzzo. A devoted and adoring Yiayia, she cherished her grandchildren - Alexa, Jessica, Demitria, Marcus, Nicholas, and Elizabeth - and took immense joy in her great-grandchildren, Vera and Dominic.
Shava also leaves behind her sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Barbara Souza; her beloved nieces and nephew, Marianne Mullin, Michael Zounes, Em Revithi and her husband Mateo Revithi, and Stephanie Russell, all of whom she loved dearly; as well as her special friend, Jack - whom she cared for when he was little and who remained a lifelong friend who always brought a smile to her face.
Her family finds comfort knowing that Pauline and Frank are reunited - she, the heart of the home, and he, its protector - together again. Her stories, traditions, and unconditional love will live on in the generations she so lovingly nurtured.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10 am in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, DRACUT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pauline's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
