Mrs. Pecola (Green) Clay, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Friday July 25th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She was a loyal and devoted believer in God with undeniable faith. Her heart was full of gold and was loved dearly by all of her family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lela Mae Green; her father, Johnny Green; several siblings, and her husband of 60 years Buddy Mitchell Clay.

Survivors include her seven children, Surlinda C. Hardwick of Columbus, Randy Clay and Rebecca Lugg of Santa Rosa, California, Steve Clay of Los Angeles, California, Virginia C. Baker and Tony Baker of Albany, Charles Clay, Kenny Clay, and Ronnie and Dana Clay all of Vidalia; siblings, Rachel G. Richardson, Mattie Mae Walton (Bunch), and W.C. Green all of Albany; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will have a celebration of life honoring her at a later date.
