William F. McDaniel, Jr. "Billy" or "Billy Mac", 71, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia. Billy was born in San Diego, California. He had also lived in Slidell, Louisianna during his father's Naval Career before settling in Millen, Georgia where he graduated high school in 1973.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Mae Bennett McDaniel; father, William F. McDaniel, Sr.; stepbrother Keith Lee and step Nephew, Jason John "Jase" Lee.

He is survived by his only son William Garrett McDaniel, Millen, Georgia; sister, Linda M. Cordell and brother in-law, Hal Cordell of Diboll, Texas: 2 nieces, Michelle C. McDonald , Diboll, Texas and Rachel C. Rushing (Scott) of Austin, Texas; great niece Ellison McDonald; great nephew, Knox Rushing; stepmother, Shelvy Jean McDaniel, 2 stepbrothers, Greg Lee (Susanne) and Rodney Lee (Vondesa) and many step nieces and nephews, all of Millen, Georgia; also, Lisa Padgett of South Carolina, who was like a daughter to him.

Last but not least, Billy leaves the Brogdon family, who although not blood related, he remained in close contact through the years and was always invited to family reunions and other family functions. They will sadly miss his phone calls.

Billy worked as a welder for many years in Millen. He was also a retired long hall truck driver and local log truck driver. However, he was best known for being a drummer with the "Joker Band" although he played with many other bands through the years. This was his main joy in life, along with being an avid deer hunter in his younger years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Many thanks to Wilkes Funeral home of Vidalia, Georgia for their service.
