Peggy Hamner Egan, of Beech Mountain, North Carolina transitioned peacefully in her home on November 8, 2023. She was born on December 13, 1947 to William Bryce Hamner and Ruth Reed Hamner.
Peggy excelled in academics; graduating from North Cobb High School in 1965 to later pursue her career as a Registered Nurse in Naples, Florida and Flint, Michigan. She was a veracious reader and enjoyed playing mahjong and bridge with her friends, Harriet and Barbara. She also loved music and singing, taking voice lessons for many years. Peggy is survived by her son, Leerie Thurman Jenkins III, her grandchildren, Casey Blaire Jenkins and Christopher Bryce Jenkins Jr, and her nieces, Nikki Morse and Natalie Rodriguez. She was preceded by her father, William Bryce Hamner, her mother, Ruth Reed Hamner, her sister, Marcia Hamner Bozeman, and her son, Christopher Bryce Jenkins Sr (Kit).
Special thank you to her wonderful caregivers over the years that Peggy cared deeply for: Macie, Joy, Jessica, Sandy, Alyshia, Brittany, Cindy, Cathy, Andrea, Hannah, Jeanie, Kelly, and Maggie. And her wonderful hospice Nurse Susan
