Mrs. Peggy Melton Miles, age 80, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church by Pastor Henry Lee Gulledge and Bro. Cody Morton with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, December 29, 2023 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miles was born April 29, 1943 in Jefferson, SC a daughter of the late John and Lucy Boone Melton. Peggy grew up attending Antioch Baptist Church with her family and was a member of Southern Grace Church in Chesterfield. She loved the Lord, her family, and attending church. She was a delicious cook and enjoyed gardening, canning jellies, scrapbooking, and working in her flowers. Peggy was a former employee of Mayes Exxon of McBee, EZ Quick, and Raley’s Quick Stop, where she enjoyed meeting new friends. She loved watching red birds and was affectionately known by her nurses as “Miss Sweet Pea.”
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miles was also preceded in death by her brothers, Manuel, Emzia, Joe, James, Chester, and Harlan Melton; and three sisters, Daisey Lowery, Omega Grooms, and Kathleen Lloyd.
Survivors include her sons, William Andy (Mary Ann) Miles, Kenny (Cindy) Miles, and Aaron (Tracy) Miles all of Jefferson, SC; grandchildren, Kendall Miles, Spechal Miles, Joseph Andrew Moak, Kayla Campbell, Cheyenne Loyd, Brianna Welch, David Miles, and Marcus Hatley; great grandchildren, Hera, Indy, Aimee, Joseph, Carter, Hailey, Hunter, Luna, Aubrey, Braylen, Bryson, Jackson, Ayden, and Phoenix; brother, Harry Melton of Jefferson, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
