Our dear daughter, sister, aunt, and friend Peggy Anne Patterson, age 71, of Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1954, to Joseph Earl and Isabella Morton Patterson. She had one brother Craig whom she adored.
She was raised in Burley, Idaho on a farm, where she acquired her strong work ethic at a young age with many responsibilities. She enjoyed accompanying her father to cattle auctions and was trusted at a young age to help pick out the cattle they were buying.
Peggy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Utah and went on to serve as a registered nurse (RN) for Intermountain Health for 47 years. Nursing for Peggy wasn’t just a profession; it was her passion and life’s work. Her gentle spirit, tireless work ethic, and unwavering care touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues throughout her career. She had a vast knowledge of nursing and mentored many nurses and staff members with her excellent and kind teaching abilities.
Peggy was known for her kindness, resilience, and loyalty. Peggy made friends everywhere she went and loved her neighbors and their children. She enjoyed going up to the fruit stands each summer to support the local farmers and shared the bounty of fruits and vegetables with all of her friends. She loved gardening as was evidenced by the peaches, tomatoes, pears, raspberries, blackberries, cucumbers, snap peas, plums, grapes, and blueberries she shared with the neighborhood.
She loved all animals, especially dogs and horses. She had a great love for her dog Harley who provided her with great love, comfort, and companionship during recent years.
Peggy is survived by her nephew, Jeff Patterson; nieces, Connie Patterson and Melanie Mullins; several great-nieces and nephews; her dog, Harley; and countless friends who will forever cherish her memory and the values she embodied. Peggy’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Earl and Isabella Morton Patterson; as well as her dear, brother Craig.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Ogden City Cemetery (5th street inside the cemetery) where The Utah Nightingales will provide a nursing tribute ceremony as well as a white rose ceremony in honor of Peggy’s 47 years serving as a nurse.
Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
