PEGGY ANN MOSELEY PETTWAY
AUGUST 16, 1941 – FEBRUARY 19, 2025
ON FEBRUARY 19, 2025 - The Angels of God whispered: "Peggy, come now and take your rest."
Peggy Ann Moseley Pettway was born August 16, 1941 in Boykin, Alabama.
She married Potie Pettway on November 25, 1960. From that union they were blessed with six children: Jason Pettway, Potie Jr. (Fredau), Carol Barnes, Amy Pettway, Pearler Pettway and Justin Pettway.
Peggy confessed her belief in Christ at an early age. She left Boykin early in life, to live in Mobile, AL where she and Potie married and raised their family. She retired from Providence Hospital after many years of dedicated service.
Upon retirement her hobbies became spending time with her children, doting over her grandchildren and great grandchildren, hanging out with her sisters and brothers whenever she had opportunity, watching the Hallmark Channel, baking sweet potato pies, and making her pecan candy.
Peggy blessed everyone she met with her love, sweetness, care, and concern. She never missed an opportunity to give, send a card, and pray with or for anyone. Always freely sharing her belief in our Heavenly Father, and her anticipated eternal life with Him. Peggy's health declined over the years. After a brief stay at SAAD's Hospice Facility "The Retreat", she transitioned to receive her white robe and spend eternity with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Potie, Sr.; children: Jason, Carol, Potie, Jr, and Justin; and granddaughter, Naomi.
Peggy leaves to cherish her precious memories, daughters: Amy Pettway and Pearler Pettway; daughter-in-law, Fredau (Potie, Jr.) Pettway; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; five sisters: Edwina (Tonnie) Pettway, Lisa (Edwin) Gomes, Caroline (Joseph) Williams, Sandria (James) Alston and Sally Mixon; three brothers: Tank (China) Pettway, Edwin (Renay Mack) Pettway and Cornelius (Latoya) Pettway; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
