Peggy Lee (Salters) Proctor, age 74, of Elsie, Michigan, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 4, 2024. She was born September 8, 1949, in St. Johns, Michigan, to the late Floyd and Caroline (Pohl) Salters.
Peggy was a lifelong hairdresser. She always referred to her clients as her ladies. Peggy had a personality that was both caring and fun and she was never short of helpful advice. Her home always was the place where people wanted to visit; whether it be for some counsel, some food or the U of M football games that she loved. She loved her boyfriend Mike, siblings more than they knew, her kids she would do anything for, and her grandkids who she just adored. If you let her, she was your biggest cheerleader and your most honest, call you out person. She loved gardening (in later years picking other's gardens clean), canning and teaching people how to can. No one can forget how her outfits always matched from head to toe, whether it be highlighter yellow or maize and blue. She was the early bird to get things done and loved telling what she had done before noon. She could run circles around most people half her age. She loved going to the gym and was stronger than most although she didn't really know it. She had a way with the young and the old; I'm not sure how many of her 'ladies' she cared for over the years; taking meals and checking on people. Her heart was so big. Her smile and energy were contagious and we will all miss her dearly.
She is survived by her caring and loving partner, Mike Dolan; her three children, Dana (Joe) Alissandrello, Bradley (Hugo) Pattison, and Brandon (Tanya) Pattison and their three children, Raven, Scout, and Taya; step-daughter, Trisha (Daniel) Phipps; and siblings Cathy Brya-Rotta, Rick Vorase, and Kim Roy.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Jarold Proctor; her parents, Floyd Salters and Caroline Mueller; and brother, Jerome Salters.
Per Peggy's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services. A celebration of life is being planned and details will be announced at a later date when they become available.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you honor Peggy's remembrance by cooking a meal and share it with someone in need, smile when you pass someone on the street, and show kindness to those around you.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the outpouring of love and support they have received throughout this difficult time.

Peggy and I went to beauty school together. Later we partnered together and opened the Corner Carousel Beauty Salon in 1975. Alot of fun memories. Haven't seen her in a long time. I was sorry to hear of her passing.

I was deeply saddened by word of Peggy's passing. I was one of her "ladies"! I moved to Greenville 30+ years ago, but thought of her often. We used to laugh about discovering Dana and I have the same birthday.
I last saw her at Penny Grinnell's memorial in December. Please know my prayers are with you all. She will be sorely missed. Cathy Schermerhorn

I first met Peggy at my 50th Birthday Party. We had Mutual friends and became friends ourselves. We had a lot of Laughs , did a lot of things together, traded ideas, had our ups and downs, and always remained good friends, I will Miss her.

Even though we didn´t hang out, I did see her at different events and one place in particular I would see her at Walmart and you´re right about her coordinating outfits along with her big smile when she saw you. She never tried to avoid you, anytime she saw you she had a big hello hi how are you doing? She had a very infectious smile. RIP Peggy.
