Peggy Ann (Riley) Yonkers, born on July 6, 1958, in Greenville, Michigan, peacefully passed away on March 14, 2025, at Novant Health-Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 66. A loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, her life was a tapestry of love, laughter and dedication to her family and friends.
Peggy spent her early years in Sheridan and Lakeview Michigan, where she cultivated deep roots and friendships that lasted her entire lifetime. Her professional journey was as varied as it was fulfilling. She worked at Newell Manufacturing in Lowell, Michigan, and later hit the open road as a truck driver alongside her beloved late husband, Frank Williams. Peggy also brought warmth and cheer to patrons as a waitress at Margo's in Greenville, Michigan.
An avid fan of Western shows, Peggy could often be found cheering on the good guys from the comfort of her armchair. Organizing and planning family gatherings was her specialty-ensuring every holiday was filled with laughter, good food, and perhaps a competitive game of Yahtzee or Rummy. She delighted in crocheting, traveling, and listening to the soothing melodies of old country music. Her faith was a cornerstone and a guiding light in her life, she was a member of the Entrican Bible Church in Michigan. She will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, her role as the family matriarch, for her selflessness, always putting others before herself and taking immense pride in the people she loved.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Williams, and her father, Jack Riley, Peggy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her mother, Rosezina (Scott) Hamilton, and step-father, Jack Hamilton; her daughter, Kendra (Bos) Johns and husband Randall of Grandville, Michigan; her son, Timothy Bos and wife Samantha of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; and her grandchildren, Alexis Johns, Tyler Johns, Benton Bos, Kensley Bos, and Everly Bos. Peggy is also survived by her sisters, Mary Riley of Saranac, Michigan, and Jill (Riley) Laper of Stanton, Michigan; her brother, Jack Riley II of Sheridan, Michigan; and many close friends and extended family members.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Michigan, where stories will be shared, laughter will be encouraged, and Peggy's spirit will undoubtedly be felt by all.
Rest in peace, Peggy. You lived a life woven with love, laughter, and endless yarn.
