MORTON – Penny Sue Fauser, 78, of Lexington, Illinois, formerly of Morton, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
She was born on September 3, 1945, in Hannibal, Missouri to Donald and Florence (Young) Skoglund. She married John Fauser on December 19, 1972, in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2011. She was also preceded in death by one son Donald Fauser and one daughter-in-law, Sandee Castle.
Surviving are her daughter, Ashley Fauser (Kim Kidner) of Lexington, Illinois; son, Troy (Colleen) Hamilton of Peoria; and three grandchildren, Finley and Jude Kidner-Fauser and Heather Hamilton.
Penny was a proud mother and grandmother who fiercely loved her grandchildren more than anything in this world. She was a great friend and loyal person to all that knew her.
You could find Penny most of her life at the ball diamonds cheering on her kids and grandchildren. She never wanted to miss an event whether it be sports, musicals, performances – she would be at every single one. She enjoyed family nights of playing games, cards and liked going out for dinner. She also lover her annual trips to the Cubs games.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
