Penny G. Finkle

Andrée Giltzow Finkle, known to all as Penny, died on December 15, 2024 at the age of 80. Penny grew up in Roseland with her two brothers, Jay and Fred. She was in the first graduating class of West Essex High School. As a longtime resident of Essex Fells, Penny had a strong sense of community. She served on the Essex Fells Elementary School PTA and also served on the board of Montclair Kimberley Academy. Penny was an active and dedicated member of the Essex Fells Garden Club for decades, proudly decorating everything from the Essex Fells Post Office to Drumthwacket. Penny was a member of the Essex Fells Country Club and the Bay Head Yacht Club. For over 60 years she enjoyed spending summers with her family at their home in Mantoloking, NJ.
Penny will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her son, Clifford Brown Finkle IV and daughter-in-law Alexis Dougherty Finkle; her daughter, Jill Finkle Worth and son-in-law Carter Braxton Worth; and her six grandchildren: Pierce Dougherty Finkle, Skylar Dougherty Finkle, Alden Brown Worth, Brewster Boening Worth, Alice Huntting Worth and Courtland Case Worth. She was predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart, Clifford Brown Finkle III, and her parents, Blanche Montfort Giltzow and James Hunter Giltzow. In addition to her family, she will be deeply missed by many lifelong friends.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday, December 18th from 5-7pm at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home in Roseland located at 45 Roseland Avenue in Roseland, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 19th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church located at 271 Roseland Avenue in Essex Fells, NJ.
