Penny Ingham Suggs was born on August 20,1954 to Joe and Ruby Ingham. Jesus called her home on Easter morning April 20, 2025 after fighting a private battle with cancer for almost four years. Penny grew up in Bryceville, Florida. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1972. It was during her sophomore year in High school that she met the love of her life Wayne Suggs. They moved to Yulee, Florida in 1974 where they made a life for themselves.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years of marriage Wayne Suggs, a daughter Jenny (Robbie) Nevin, a son Jesse (Jennifer) Suggs, granddaughter Faith (Caleb) McCormick, three grandsons Bryce Nevin, Grady and Cooper Suggs. She also leaves behind a niece Angie Griffin, great niece Ashley (Taylor) Griffin, a great nephew Louis (Mary Catherine) Griffin, and two great great nephews Leo and Joey Griffin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, along with a sister and brother-in-law Pat and Marvin Smith, and nephew Joey Smith.
Penny worked for the Nassau County school system for 22 year and retired 11 years ago to be home with her grandchildren. For many of those years she was the smile for Yulee elementary School. She is known for her sweet and gentle demeanor and will be missed extremely.
Penny loved Jesus and was the true definition of a virtuous woman. After Jesus her greatest love was her family. Spending time with them at the beach, mountains, ball games, gardening, and shopping were just a few of her favorite things to do. She encouraged them with her favorite bible verse " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 Penny's life was blessed just like she blessed all who knew her.
Funeral services for Penny will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Blackrock Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Kasper and Pastor Frank Camarotti officiating. The family y will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
She will be laid to rest at Green Pine Cemetery.
