Peter Hitchcock Brigham passed away on May 7, 2025, succumbing to cancer at his residence in Groton, MA.
Peter was born in Norwood, MA on June 30, 1950 to Welma (Leeman) Brigham and Howard H. Brigham, both originally from Springfield, MA. He moved with his parents to Littleton, MA as an infant, and spent his childhood on Starr Hill roaming the woods and fields surrounding Long Lake with his brothers and friends.
Peter attended Littleton schools, and graduated from Littleton High School in 1968. Following high school, Peter attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston for several semesters, majoring in mechanical engineering. Pete could fix anything - and went on to make his living doing small engine repair as well as working on motorcycle and car engines. In addition, he did landscaping, wood cutting, and other handyman jobs as the occasions arose. In his younger years, Pete raced motocross and enjoyed scuba diving; throughout his life he was an avid fisherman. Peter was very loyal and generous to his family and friends, and met all his challenges with humor and a quiet dignity. He will be missed.
Peter is survived by his brothers Jonathan and his wife Susan, Thomas and his wife Karen, James, and Robert, as well as by nieces, nephews, and their children.
A memorial will be scheduled at a future date; burial will be private.
