Peter A. Izzi Jr.

Peter A. Izzi, Jr., age 78, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He met the love of his life Joan E. (Olson) Izzi when they were both 13 years old, married after high school and together they shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Pawtucket, he was the oldest of three children born to the late Peter A. Izzi, Sr. and Aileen R. (Carroll) Izzi.

A hard worker, he was a longtime pipefitter for Electric Boat before his retirement in 2013. He was an avid woodworker and always had a project underway, finding joy in creating and building with his hands. In his younger years, Peter was an accomplished baseball player and was even invited to try out with the New York Yankees. His greatest joy was found in spending time with his loved ones and he took great pride in caring and providing for his family. He will be remembered for his gentle, kind, strong, and generous spirit.

Peter was the devoted father of Paula Izzi and the late Peter and Pamela Izzi; cherished 'Grampa' of Suzannah, Doug, Chelsea and Christopher; 'Great-Grampa' of Noah, Evan, Kara, Leia, Mera, Joseph and Sianna. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Moniz and Donna D'Ambra, daughter-in-law Jeanette Izzi; nieces and nephews, Derrick, McKayla, Melinda, Jerry Jr., Mary Catherine, Steven, Carolyn and Jennifer and brother-in-law Steven Plouff. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Larry Moniz and sister-in-law, June Plouff.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:30am in the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment with full Military Honors will immediately follow in the RI Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 4-7pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105 are greatly appreciated.
