Peter Joseph Ligotti

Peter Joseph Ligotti, CPA, 48, of Oak Ridge, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Born in Ridgewood, raised in Oakland, he was a 1991 graduate of Don Bosco High School. He attended Lehigh University, graduating in 1995 with a B.S. in Business, Economics, and Accounting. He was the Chief Financial Officer at Bobst Group North America, where he passionately spent his career.
He lived with honesty, integrity, and accountability his entire life.
He was selfless, loyal, and driven. He never let anyone down. Always rose to the occasion and did extraordinary things.
He was a genuine leader, amazing father, incredible husband, and dear friend.
Peter had an infectious smile that lit up any room he entered. He was always driven and upbeat. Never seeing an obstacle as one, he would not conquer; but as a challenge, lesson, opportunity, and many times fun! He worked tirelessly in achieving his goals and helping others.
Peter had a vibrant spirit and boundless energy. He always enjoyed being outdoors, especially trail running and obstacle course racing. He was a multi- generation avid fan of the New York Rangers. He earned many dear friendships across the nation and world. He loved his family, friends, coworkers, and the love of his life, Amber.
In 2018, Peter and Amber's paths met among their obstacle course racing community. They fell head over heels and rose to love as soulmates discovering what they wished for and believed in their entire lives. The two planned to marry in 2019, yet waited to ensure everything aligned for their children and blended families. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, they had to postpone. By winter 2020, they decided they didn't want to wait any longer and eloped to Clearwater Beach, Florida. Following a long morning run, they romantically wed with a beautiful ceremony at sunset in February 2021.
Pete is lovingly survived by his wife, Amber Dawn Ligotti (Willenbring); his father, Leonard (George) Ligotti and wife, Diane Ligotti; his blended children, Andrea Smith, Alyssa Ligotti, Madeline (Madi) Willenbring, Joseph (Joey) Ligotti, and Noah Willenbring; his brother, James (Jim) Ligotti; his niece, Amber Hechinger and husband Mike Hechinger; nephew John William Ligotti and his beloved pups Cowboy and Jasper. He is predeceased by his mother, Kathryn, and his brother, Daniel (Danny).
A memorial visitation and celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 11, from 12-4 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm to conclude the visitation. Cremation will be private. Masks will be required when entering the funeral home.
