Peter Papadakis, 96, fell asleep in the Lord on November 30th, 2024.
Beloved husband of the late Niki (née Konstantopoulos). Loving father of James Papadakis. Devoted son of the late Georgia and Dimitri Papadakis. Dear brother of the late Helen (the late Peter) Mitchell, the late Constantine (the late Vasiliki) Papadakis, the late Vasiliki (the late Peter) Garivaltis, the late Panagoula (the late George) Gountanis, the late Tom (the late Eleni) Papadakis, the late Pat (the late Tom) Chiampas, and the late Nicholas (the late Tasia) Papadakis. Dear brother-in-law of the late Vaso (the late Bobby), the late Georgia (the late Anthanasi), and Toula. Fond uncle and cousin of many.
Peter was born on December 31st, 1927 in Nestani, Greece. After serving in the Greek military, he emigrated to Toronto, Canada. It was there that he met and married his beloved wife Niki, and shortly after, their son James was born. In 1966, Peter and his family emigrated once more to the United States and settled down in Chicago, where Peter owned restaurants and was a head chef. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Peter loved to get together with his family for coffee, and will always be remembered as having a strong cup of it in his hand.
Visitation on Monday, December 9th, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 10050 Ivanhoe Avenue, Schiller Park, Illinois. Funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum in River Grove.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
