Peter John William Curtis, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, at his home in Ballston Lake, NY at the age of 64. Born on October 29, 1960, in Rochester, NY, Peter's life was a testament to his loving nature, determination and need for speed.
Peter was the beloved son of the late James and Mary (Cavanaugh) Curtis and grew up in a lively household with his siblings. His formative years were filled with love and laughter, values he carried throughout his life.
On September 19, 1987, Peter married the love of his life, Regina (Menneto) Curtis. Together, they built a life filled with joy and welcomed two daughters, Stephanie and Rachel Curtis, whom he adored. Peter was a loving father who instilled in his children the importance of family, humor, and compassion.
A proud graduate of Shenendehowa High School in 1980, Peter continued his education and obtained college credit that served him well in his career. He was a dedicated member of the Army National Reserves for 26 years, serving from 1983 to 2009. His commitment to his country was matched only by his commitment to his loved ones.
His interests were as vibrant and full of life as he was. A lover of fast cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and snowmobiling, Peter embraced the thrill of adventure. He was also passionate about weightlifting, a testament to his discipline and strength. Above all, Peter loved joking with his family and siblings, always quick with a smile or a playful tease.
The words that best describe Peter are loving, kind, and funny. He was a man who cherished his wife, daughters, and extended family. Peter is survived by his wife Regina Curtis, daughters Stephanie and Rachel Curtis and his siblings James Curtis Jr., Anne Curtis, RSM, Barbara Secore (the late Craig), Kathryn Quick (Garry), and Mary Sue Lounsbury (Gordon). He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, George and Beverly Menneto, his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and his buddy Bear. His ability to light up a room and lift the spirits of those around him will be deeply missed. Calling hours for Peter will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm in the chapel at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:30 am at the church. Interment with Military honors will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
