Keith James O'Hanlon 64 of Pleasant Valley passed away on Sunday April 6, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Keith has been a local resident since 1985, previously of Clifton Park NY. Keith was born in Albany, NY on November 26, 1960, he was the son of the late John and the late Frances O'Hanlon. He was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park NY.
Keith was a Marine Corps Veteran and truly lived by "Once a Marine, Always a Marine." He was involved with various groups and organizations including Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance and Vet2Vet. Keith sat on the Veterans Advisory Board for former NY State Senator Sue Serino and made it a priority to fight for his fellow Veterans.
Keith was a devoted member of his community. He served as town councilman in Pleasant Valley for four years and worked closely with the Pleasant Valley Rotary. He cherished his military truck "Lucy Deuce," and would use her for Stuff the Truck events and parades. Keith possessed a special gift as St. Nicolas. He strongly believed in the magic of Christmas and adored spreading that joy with everyone. He looked forward to his Santa Claus appearances each year, refusing payment in place of food and monetary donations for those in need.
Keith was a member of the Saugerties Rod and Gun Club. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He found solace in nature. Keith loved to ride his Harley-Davidsons down the back roads. He was a karaoke enthusiast with a voice to remember.
Keith is survived by his daughter Erin O'Hanlon and Scott Kanvin of Kingston NY, his daughter Katie Maley and her husband Paul of Hyde Park, his grandsons Sean Patrick O'Hanlon Kanvin and Emmett Maley, girlfriend Terri Brundage of Hudson, sister Diane Parent and her husband Clem of Ballston Spa NY, several nieces and nephews, and his best friend and protector Atticus. Keith was predeceased by his sisters Jean Marinucci and Joan McHargue.
Calling hours will be Sunday April 13th from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Timothy P Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie NY with services to follow at 4:30.
Burial will be at Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday April 14th at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Food Pantry or Vet2Vet. Semper Fi, Marine.
