Philip "Phil" A. Dubuque, 79, of Millbury passed away peacefully on Saturday 11/12/2022 after an illness.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cheryl Dubuque (née Sharon); his daughter Michelle Neiduski and her husband John; daughter Danielle Dubuque; sisters Theresa Curtis and Rita Murphy; brother Donald Dubuque; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Philip spent his career of over 40 years at St. Vincent Hospital as the chief of security. He loved his time "at the V," having made many friends through his years there.
Philip served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Being a veteran was an important part of his life. While he carried many positive memories of his service and the camaraderie with fellow soldiers, he also carried the darker side of the conflict with him. He found solace from his trauma by sharing his story with a group of fellow Veterans at the Worcester Vet Center, and with his counselor, Jennifer.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester for the wonderful care provided to Philip. In particular, Rose, Jason and Cassandra held a special place in Philip's heart.
At Philip's request, there will be no services. Family and friends are welcome to gather at his gravesite when his ashes are interred in the Millbury Central Cemetery, West Street on November 29, 2022 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Vet Center through the Vietnam Veterans for The Community in Worcester. http://www.worc-vvftc.org/index.html

Phil was a great guy, and boss. I worked with him for almost 40 years. He always had stories to tell mostly of his days in Vietnam. He was loved throughout the hospital. He was a very kind and good person. I will miss him a lot And I know many others will also.

With sweet sorrow the passing of Phil, called Chief sometimes at SVH. You were one of a kind with your dry humor and a serious side. Prayers for the family and colleagues plus friends. Thank you for your service in protecting our freedom.

Sincere condolences to Cheryl, Michelle, Danielle, all of Phil´s family and all who loved him. You are all in my prayers during this time of acute sorrow. I had the opportunity speak with Phil on many occasions during the years we were employed at "The V". He was a great guy, who performed his duties as the Chief of the Saint Vincent Police so well, and with kindness. May God comfort all who loved Phil with only the happiest of memories.
