Philip “Phil” Polk Harmon, 74, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Phil was born on May 24, 1950, in Butler, Georgia to the late James Henry Harmon and Rachel Mangham Gaultney. A proud member of the Northside High School Class of 1969, Phil went on to attend Houston Vocational School, setting the foundation for a diverse and fulfilling career.
Throughout his life, Phil held a variety of roles that reflected his curiosity and work ethic. He began his career at Enterprise Aluminum, where he met his former wife and the mother of his children. He later brought his talents to Support Systems Associates, Inc. (SSAI) and, most recently, to Northrop Grumman, where he continued to work with dedication and skill.
Phil had a deep passion for history and was always eager to learn. He was a true lifelong student, often found reading and discussing historical events. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he especially cherished the time spent with his beloved grandchildren.
In his leisure time, Phil enjoyed caring for and riding his horses, a pastime that brought him great peace. He was also an avid music lover, with a special place in his heart for rock ’n’ roll. Phil will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Holly Turner (Jason) and Victoria Harmon; grandchildren, Gabe and Anna Fauconniere; sister, Valerie Quail (James); and “adopted kids”, Brooke, Amber, and Lee Allen, along with many other loving family members and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
