Philippina Margaret Hoffman

Philippina Margaret Hoffman was born on April 7, 1939 in Kansas City, MO to William and Arvilla Hoffman. She passed away on April 22, 2025.

Philippina graduated from Redemptorist High School and was a National Honor Society member. She graduated from Avila University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught in the KCMO public school district from 1961 to 1966 and then in the Aurora Colorado public school district from 1967 to 1984. Later she worked for various companies in Kansas City.

Philippina enjoyed church, traveling, and family get togethers. She also enjoyed spending time with lifelong friends and new ones. Her many cats over the years held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her brother, John (Alice) Hoffman, three nieces Joyce (Mike) Cassidy, Janice (Scott) Asher, Julie Eveker, and several grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband William Speise, brother Robert Hoffman, nieces Karen Hoffman and Lisa Hoffman.

On May 12, 2025, the Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am with a visitation at 10:30 am and a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, 8941 James A Reed Rd, Kansas City, MO. Internment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO.
