Phillip Bird

With deep respect, we acknowledge the passing of Phillip Weldon Bird, known affectionately to many as Phil, on November 30, 2023. Born on February 5, 1961, in Provo, UT, Phillip spent his life creating a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. His spirit was marked by his reliability and humorous nature. Phillip was a resident of Ogden, Utah, and previously lived in South Jordan, Utah. Phillip's daughters have ensured his legacy will continue to live on through Organ and Tissue Donation. Through that loving and generous decision, Phillip has and will continue to touch countless lives of those whom have and will receive this gift and will be forever impacted and made possible through these selfless gifts. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and while not highly involved, he held a quiet faith.
Phillip was a dedicated and hardworking individual, a testament to his career as the owner of a residential construction business. His love for meticulous detail was not just limited to his profession, but was also evident in his personal life. He took pride in maintaining a pristine yard, ensuring the lines in his lawn were perfect, and even the smallest cracks in the sidewalk were taken care of. Phillip was a man of simple pleasures; he loved being outdoors, whether it was the routine task of yard work or the thrill of gold prospecting. His adventurous spirit was also reflected in his love for the strategic game of chess.
Loving and devoted, Phillip cherished his family above all. He was a great cook and loved preparing meals for his family, and friends making sure they were always well fed. Surviving Phillip are his daughters, Vannessa (Keith) Borders and Michelle (Brad), Pusey, Marry Ann mother of his daughters, his siblings Cheryl, Jolene, Connie, Deanna, Charles, Gary, Karry, and his six grandchildren and his four great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon Bird and Donna Rae Ostler, his brother Tom, and sister Kathleen. His love for his family was profound and he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
As stated in the Book of Mormon, "Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come." (Doctrine and Covenants 68:6). May Phillip find peace in the eternal embrace of the Lord.
