Richard Barney

Richard Kent Barney (Moose) passed away on October 31st, 2025, at the age of 53. Richard was born on September 24th, 1972, in Tooele, Utah, to Kent Barney & Linda Sue Barney. Richard passed away peacefully at St. Marks Hospital due to complications from a heart attack. Richard was a quiet soul with a kind and loving heart. Richard took pleasure in the simple things in life. A good cup of coffee, hunting and fishing, spending time with his kids and grandchildren, singing along to his favorite music, and hanging out with his family and friends.
Richard was a giving man, if he had it and you needed it, it was yours. Richard always made time to listen with a shoulder ready to cry on when you needed it. He was our light in the dark. He will be missed dearly.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Kent & Linda Barney, his brother Jerry Keith Barney, his grandchildren, PJ Wilkins, and Valerie Kentlee Mondragon, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Richard left behind his children Mary Barney, Ricardo Barney & Austion Barney, grandchildren Shylynn, Annalee, and Luke, sisters Lisa (James) Lafleur, Kimberly (Jamie) Looper, and Tammy (Jeffry) Howell, uncle Michael Ramos, aunt Verlin (Michael) Gonzales, nieces and nephews Erika, Ethenna, Christoper, Brandi, Marlena, River, Chance, and many cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 15th, at 1:00pm at the LDS Church at 2032 Churchwood Dr, Tooele, UT.
