Phillip Michael Mangiapane, It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Phillip Michael Mangiapane, age 56, of Richmond, Michigan, on March 15, 2025. Phill was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, whose kind heart and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, on May 15, 1968, Phill was a man of many talents and skills. From working with cable lines to landscaping, Phill was always ready to take on a challenge and lend a helping hand. He had a passion for staying active and loved working out with weights. Phill's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family and his desire to help others, even during his most difficult times.
Phill loved his family deeply and found joy in spending time with them. He is survived by his beloved son, Dallas Matthew Mangiapane-Marlow, and his cherished granddaughter, Caterina Johnson. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ellen; his brother, Sam; his half-sister, Sheila; his nephew, Ryan Loncar (Andrea); his two great-nephews; and many cousins who loved him dearly. Phill was predeceased by his mother, Jeanice (Jeni), and his father, Russell, whom he missed greatly.
Phill had a passion for motor vehicles, including four-wheelers and dirt bikes, which brought excitement and joy to countless family outings. Many family members have fond memories of riding alongside him, sharing laughter and adventure. He was also an avid sports fan who loved cheering for the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and especially the Red Wings, his favorite team.
Even as Phill battled illness, he continued to push himself to help others whenever he could. One of the hardest challenges for him was not being able to lend a hand as much as he wanted to. His selflessness, resilience, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
A Funeral Mass will be held in honor of Phillip on Monday, April 7, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Mark Livingston will officiate. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond.
May Phill rest in peace and live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
