Jesse "Phillip" Morgan, 78, of Huntsville; passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. He was born Tuesday, April 15, 1947, at Cass; to John Harvey and Katherine Virginia Hill Morgan.
Phillip was a loving father to his two children, Mike and Tina. He dedicated many years to law enforcement and faithfully served as Sheriff of Madison County for 18 years. Though he was a man of few words, he had a good heart and a quiet strength, never one to complain. Phillip enjoyed dancing and often spent time at the Kingston Stomp. He had a fondness for Jeeps, 4x4s, and rodeos. Most of all, he treasured being outdoors and spending time with his buddies and his family.
Phillip was preceded in death by his dad, John Harvey Morgan; His mom and step-dad, LeRoy and Katherine Mayes; two sisters, Virginia Ray Morgan and Mary Katherine Morgan; four brothers, John Thomas Morgan, Jimmie "Moose" Carl Morgan, Larry Edward Morgan, and Jackie Wayne Morgan; and one grandchild, Jared Cole Morgan.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Trisha Morgan, of Huntsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Kevin Shackelford of Patrick; one brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Judy Morgan of Fayetteville; and five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Shirley and Richard Norton, of South Carolina, Pam Kimball, of St. Paul, Peggy and Darrell Lackey, of Crosses, Brenda Haught, of St. Paul, and Mesha Smith, of St. Paul. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Ty and Emily Shackelford, Faith and Reid Briney, and Morgan and Cooper Riley, and three great-grandchildren, Knox Shackelford, Nash Shackelford, and Paisley Riley.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home with Faron Ledbetter and Darby Spurlock officiating. Pallbearers will be the Madison County Sheriff Officers. Interment will immediately follow services at Morgan Cemetery, Franklin County, Arkansas.
Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
