Phillip Cail Scrogham, 78, died Thursday, March 6, 2025, at his home in Shelbyville. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Kentucky State Highway Department. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. He also was an U.S. Army veteran. He loved hunting, fishing, and raising beagle dogs. His favorite TV show was "The Curse of Oak Island." He was an avid University of Kentucky fan. He also enjoyed rooting for the University of Louisville, except when they played the University of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. and Ona Hazel Scrogham; his first wife, Doris J. Wilson Scrogham; and his brother and sister-in-law, Paul E. and Wanda J. Hill Scrogham. He is survived by his wife, Andrea J. Cheney Scrogham of Shelbyville; his son, Phillip T. Scrogham (Kayla McKinney) of Shelbyville; his daughter, Brandy L. Duvall Howard (Glenn) of Lawrenceburg; his grandchildren, Zachary T. Howard, Joshua A. Howard, Henry Cail Scrogham, and Oaklee Faye Scrogham; his brother, Ricky Scrogham (Midge) of Bentonville, AR; his sisters, Glenna Reynolds (Roy), Lisa Leake (David), both of Shelbyville and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Mausoleum services will be 12 Noon Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Shannon Funeral Home.
(The family is planning a Celebration of Life service in July.)
