Phillip John Taylor

Phillip John Taylor age 55 died peacefully on February 22, 2026 after a brief illness.

Born on September 18, 1970, in Sarasota, Florida, he was the son of the late Gerald

Fedrerick Taylor and Angela King Taylor. Phillip graduated from Aucilla Christian

Academy in 1989, after high school he attended Stetson University earning an

undergraduate degree in political science. He continued his education at John Marshall

Law School in Atlanta, Ga where he was awarded a Juris Doctor degree. Phillip was a

passionate learner, consuming knowledge of various subjects throughout his life.

After graduating, he joined the family's trucking business, Broadleaf Contracting, Inc.,

and continued managing it for 30 years. His most recent roles included serving as

company President from 2015-2023 and Chairman of the newly formed 1975

Transportation Group from 2023-2024. After a successful career, he retired in October

of 2024 to spend more time on his many hobbies.

As an ardent fan of FSU, Phillip was a Seminole booster and enjoyed spending

Saturday afternoons in the fall at Doak Cambell Stadium. Phillip loved to travel and did

so extensively. Among many other interests, he enjoyed quail hunting at Southwind

Plantation and fishing at Alligator Point. Phillip was a man of faith and served his

community as a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Monticello, FL.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Linsey Taylor of 25 years; his two beautiful daughters,

Caroline Taylor and Clara Grace Taylor. Three brothers, Kevin Taylor (Kathy); Gerrick

Taylor (Dana); Stedman Taylor (Hillary), and sister-in-law Maury Lattay (Jay) along with

many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He accumulated many friends throughout his life and will be missed dearly by all those

that knew and loved him.

Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved."

Services to be held at First Baptist Church of Monticello, Florida, at 11:00 am Thursday,

February 26,2026.
