Phyllis Cure Senkirik Bible, age 87, of Early, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at Heartland Funeral Home on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 pm with internment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Heartland Funeral Home.
Phyllis was born August 15, 1938, in Akron Colorado to Guy and Fannie Cure, and was number 12 of 13 children. As a teenager, she worked as a waitress in a cafe in her small hometown where she met a handsome truck driver, named Doyle Senkirik from Texas. They quickly fell in love and soon married and moved to Central Texas, later settling in Early, where they raised their family. Doyle and Phyllis were married 41 years until his passing in 2006. Phyllis later married Raymond Lynn Bible, and they shared 13 years together until his passing in 2023.
Phyllis worked her entire life as a waitress at several local restaurants to include Chisolms, Western Sizzlin, Red Wagon, and Section Hand, as well as the Brownwood Hospital Food Service. She loved to tell the story of waiting on Willie Nelson before he became famous and him asking her out on a date despite her wedding ring. She later helped Doyle haul trailers across the United States and Canada. She worked really hard to bring back a quarter from every state to the grandkids, so they could fill up their United States Quarter book. She later worked in the cafeteria at Early Primary School where she loved being "Nanny" to many children that came through the lunch line. The grandkids fondly remember their Nanny always cooking up a big meal and having a refrigerator stocked with cold 3 musketeer bars, and if asked, a trip to McDonalds for a Happy Meal was always granted.
Doyle and Phyllis were blessed with five children: Rita and husband, Mike Reagan of College Station; Cindy and husband Mike McCoy of Early; Bryan and wife, Sheila Senkirik of Rising Star; and Craig and wife, Staci Senkirik of Early, and the late Doyle Wayne Senkirik, Jr.
Grandchildren include Jerry Lawrence, Terri Lawrence Steudle, Cody Schat, Christa Reagan, Jeremy McCoy, Jason McCoy, Jerad McCoy, Shelbie McCoy, Jake Senkirik, Jordyn Senkirik Steinberger, Michael Senkirik, Sarah Senkirik and Lexy Henry.
Great grandchildren include Danielle Stewart, Wayne Lawrence, BJ Byars, Bailey Byars, Elaina McDaniel, Addisen, Barrett, TJ, Tenley, Reed, and JD McCoy, Mason and Case Cowan, Khara, Madison, Sayler, and Austyn Senkirik, and Sullivan Steinberger and great great grandchild Willow McDaniel.
Phyllis leaves behind her beloved baby brother, Ralph Cure and wife, Linda as well as many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis loved music and dancing, and we know that her dance card is full in Heaven as she is reunited with her loved ones. The family would like to thank Solaris Hospice and Songbird for caring for Phyllis.
