Robert Douglas Bible entered his eternal home in Heaven on October 20, 2025, at the age of 69 surrounded by his loving family.
Doug, as he was known by family and friends, was born on February 11, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of Robert and Alice "June" Bible. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 51 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Fulton) Bible as well as his sisters, Jennifer (Gehrig) Paschall and Judi Williams.
Although Doug valued his successful career in accounting and the many colleagues he admired and mentored, his greatest joy was his family. He and Jackie built a loving home in Wabash where they raised their two daughters, Nichole (Kelly) Harner and Natalie (Bill) Kreider. Doug delighted in his daughters' music, cheerleading, academic as well as other accomplishments and later, enjoyed being "Grandpa Doug" to his grandchildren, Blake (Sydnee) Harner, Grayson Harner, Sophia Kreider, Andrew Kreider, Alice Kreider and great-granddaughter, Lakyn Harner.
He graduated from Delta High School in 1974, where he played varsity basketball. His high school basketball experience, marriage and attendance of both DeSoto United Methodist Church and later, Bachelor Creek Church of Christ are all credited for shaping his drive, dedication, integrity and Christian values as a husband, father and man of faith.
After high school, Doug attended Ball State University, earning his Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1979. Doug worked tirelessly during college to simultaneously earn his degree while working full time to support his family. He held jobs in the foundry at Broderick Corporation, as a teller at Muncie Federal and in maintenance at Muncie Chevrolet while completing his degree.
Following graduation, Doug joined Indiana Farm Bureau Co-op and worked as an auditor. Afterwards Doug moved to the Wabash County Farm Bureau Co-op soon becoming the controller. Doug shepherded the Co-op through a series of mergers as CFO, providing financial leadership to North Central Co-op for 40 years through 11 mergers, with various co-ops in Indiana and Michigan. In November 2018, Doug turned in his "10-key," retiring shortly after the organization became Ceres Solutions.
During retirement, Doug cherished time spent with his family at the lake house, pulling the grandkids while tubing as well as driving friends and family around the lake in his tritoon. Doug loved to take his family on adventures, being "escorted" around Disney World by his grandkids as well as taking memorable trips to Turks & Caicos, Mexico and Sedona, AZ. He was happy to replace the cold winters of Indiana with days in the warm sunshine on a Caribbean beach, scuba diving and snorkeling, or in FL on the beach or golf course. Doug and his wife, Jackie, enjoyed entertaining and making memories with family and friends in their home at the lake and their condo in St Pete Beach.
Doug will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering devotion to family, his grounded spirit and the quiet wit he brought to every room. His legacy lives on in the laughter, kindness, hard work he inspired and the memories he leaves behind.
Funeral services will be held at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, on Friday, October 24, 2025. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Union Church Cemetery in DeSoto.
