Phyllis Jean Bowling, 79 of Scottsburg, Indiana was called home to be with the Lord on January 19. 2024.
Born August 8, 1944 in Perry Country, Kentucky the oldest of 10 children to Manuel and June Porter.
Phyllis married John R. Bowling Sr, on October 1, 1961, who passed away October 1, 2007.
Phyllis was of a giving generous spirit, nothing gave her more joy than to give to others. She was a falthful member of Broadway Pentecostal Church in Austin.
Survivors include 3 Sons, John Bowling Jr (Angie), Michael Bowling (Liz), David Bowling (Lisa), and 1 daughter Angela Brock (Duane). Sisters: Diana Clark, Helen Helton, Debra Turner, Brothers, David, Junior and Wayne Porter grandchildren: Crystal, Bethany, Phillip, Jordan, Matthew, Michael, Derek, Kurtis, and 8 great-grandchildren
She is proceded in death by one Son, Phillip Edward Bowling and brothers, Leon, Eddie and Earl Porter.
Special thanks to the incredible staff at Memory Cottage Lake Pointe Village and Amedisys Hospice For the professional compassionate care they gave to our dear mother.
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana with Rev. Johnny Bowling and Rev. Richard Jones.
Visitation will be 10 am to 1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at New Providence Cemetery in Austin, Indiana.
