Phyllis Briggs

Sadly, on Sunday, October 30, 2022, Phyllis Briggs, of Carmel, NY, passed away at the age of 90.
Phyllis was born on October 22, 1932 in the Bronx, NY to Nicholas and Genevieve (Gerard) Conforti. She graduated from Monroe High School in the Bronx in 1950. On October 10, 1953, she married her husband, John Briggs, at Holy Family Church in the Bronx and they had four children.
She worked as an administrative assistant at Nationwide Insurance in Carmel, NY. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her family was everything to her. She loved being a mother and she spent her life helping others. An active member of her community, Phyllis worked as a volunteer at Kent Library for 20 years.
Her beloved husband, Jack, who passed away in 1997, predeceases Phyllis. She is survived by her dearly loved children, Kathy Knox (Ed), John Briggs (Chris), Tom Briggs (Kathy) and Don Briggs (Dorene). She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Courtney, Morgan, Joey, Kevin Jodi, Bethany, Kendi and Jack and her cherished great grandchildren, Tyler and Avery. Her brother, Richard Conforti survives her as well.
Phyllis will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.
A Christian Funeral Mass to honor and celebrate Phyllis's life will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at St. James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY.
Following the Mass, Phyllis will be brought to her final resting place at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.
